Is whey protein an excellent source for me to lose weight and gain muscule?
I don’t want to bulk up but get ripped. I also want to lose at leastt 20lbs. So far iv been exercising at least 3 time a day by walking/jogging on my treadmill and lifting my weights. And doing push-ups and sit-ups. And i eat the right types of food, I just really want to know if whey protein will help me boost my energy becuase i am going to play football soon!
You are already doing the most important things you can do! Eat clean and make sure to exercise:) High quality whey protein is a great product to promote lean muscle growth and aid in tissue repair.

Whey will help you with the energy and muscle build up, though I think the potential for the muscle build up comes along with added weight.
However, whey can also be used as a meal replacement as it causes decreased appetite, which means you won’t feel hungry.

The problem I see in this question is you want to lose weight. Whey protein is one of the fastest obsorbing protein avaiable at this time. however in gaining muscle you will tend to notice more weight gain. This is common due to the fact that muscle weighs more than fat. If you want to lose weight try something different. If your looking to gain lean muscle through exercise and proper nutrition I would start out with a small amount of protein only on the days you work out until you know how yoru body will react. Expect stinky farts and huge poops. You may bloat if that happens try drinking more water.

whey protien is what it is-
an additional source of protien that you can "sneak" into your foods to boost your overall protien intake.
so long as the whey protien you are using is not laden with added sugar and junk, then its a good source of additional protien.
its not a "magic bullet" its a good way to boost protien intake without greatly increasing overall food intake.
just in case you aren’t aware- ricotta cheese is the ony naturally occuring source of whey protien.
for more specifics you should formalize a workout program incorporating HIIT (high intensity interval training) and weights.
walking/jogging is going to help your overall health- but wont’ do nearly as much for weight/fat loss as weights or high intensity interval training will.
EDIT:
you will not "bulk up" unless you increase you calorie intake- your muscles need somehting to build them and additional energy to fuel them in order to grow- what it sounds like you want is lean muscle to replace fat on your body,
which if you lower your overall calorie intake- or just remove the crap foods from your diet by substituting good ones (allow for a cheat meal or two during the week), and stick to an excercise program you should do fine.
- i also suggest you stop thinking in terms of "lose weight" what you want is to lose fat it sounds-
as such you might want to have your body fat % checked and maybe every month or every other month do so agian to track your progress.

You cannot lose weight and gain muscle… if you do, then patent that baby, you’ll be an instant multimillionaire!
What you are probably wanting to do is lose weight and look muscular?!
1. you’re doing way too much. stop your current plan.
2. sort your diet out, to get a better looking body is 95% diet and sorting a good eating regimen out.
3. once your diet is sorted, eat 6-8 times a day, preferably every 2-3 hours. This increases your metabolism.
4. Lift big heavy weights in the gym, do squats, dead lifts, bench presses, shoulder presses, etc all the main moves.
5. get plenty of rest, at least 8 hours per night. the more you sleep the more you grow.
by jogging like you are currently doing and doing pushups and situps all you are doing is training your body to adjust to those exercises. you will not grow, period.

Getting ripped is not about losing weight. It’s about shedding fat. Whey does not boost energy, overall proper nutrition and fueling of the body does.
Whey is good for supplementing your protein intake. A proper recovery drink like Endurox R4 is crucial and should be taken at the correct time(as quickly after done exercising as possible/within the first hour of being done). Being ripped with poor muscle development is not a good thing. Looks horrible.
You might want to bump that to 6 days a week or daily to get ripped. Get lots of quality cardio work.
You can lose weight and gain muscle at the same time. It’s been proven countless times, over and over.

Yes, whey protein will help you boost your energy (particularly if you are lacking in protein intake).
Whey protein will not only help you maintain your muscle mass, but will provide the nutrients it needs for recovery and building more of it.
You can increase muscle mass and lose body fat. Thus you won’t be "bulking up" but become more ripped.
I would suggest around 1 gram of protein per body weight and whey protein would be a great supplement to get to those levels.
