Overview
Diet shakes seem almost as old as dieting itself—few people who’ve tried to lose weight have not encountered a weight loss shake powder of one kind or another. The makers of SlimScript claim their product is a bit different than the shakes that have come before it because of its supposed good taste, high calcium, and low carb formula. Yet a look into the ingredients reveals SlimScript is like most other diet shakes: low calorie, few flavors, and not quite a worthy substitute for actual food.
Ingredients at a Glance
SlimScript shake mixes contain whey protein, soy protein, fiber, and a daily dose of several vitamins and minerals.
Ingredients in Focus
Soy and whey protein are the most common types of protein found in natural supplements. Whey protein is taken from whey (the liquid that separates from curds in cheese making) and is very easily absorbed by the body. The main drawback of soy is the amount of phyto-estrogen it contains, which can unbalance the dieter’s hormones. Fiber is an essential part of any diet as it fortifies the heart and improves digestion. While these ingredients are all nourishing they are not able to speed metabolism or suppress the appetite.
Positives
• Includes a generous helping of necessary nutrients
Negatives
• No testimonials at this time
• Available in only three flavors
• Must be mixed with milk before consuming
• Expensive compared to similar diet shakes
Final Thoughts
At only 120 calories each, SlimScript shakes can hardly be considered a replacement for a meal. Though you may need to regulate the amount of calories you take in, most individuals will not need to make such a drastic cutback. There are a number of ways to reduce calories without spending money on or having to mix up specially made shakes. By eating meals that are well-balanced and fresh, and getting exercise nearly every day, you will quickly see the benefits of implementing your own weight loss program. Once you are on the path to dieting success you can decide which products will best support the program you have in place.

What is the best Whey protein shake?
Something with the least fat and calories, and most protein. And where can I get it?
How long is a piece of string…..
Much is going to depend on if you want to buy it on line, or from bricks and mortar. Then there’s the question of do you want a simple protein or a complex (with additives like creatine, HMB, and amino acids added).
A good place to start would be a visit to a GNC store or Health Food store, and physically looking though the info on the different products. I’d actually advise you not to take advice from the staff, they usually have their own motivations and apply these to everyone who asks for advice (human nature I guess).

Off the top of my head:
Nutrisport do a decent protein that’s around 98% and under 200kcals per serving, it’s a mix of fast and slower release whey protein though, but it’s cheap, and you can get it by the bucket (5kg bucket I think).
Maximuscle Cyclone, this is the brand leader apparently. Their Cyclone product is a complex, it contains a good amount of protein (though less than the Nutrisport) but more of it is fast acting proteins. The downside is the cost, it is expensive.
My Protein Hurricane. A UK bulk protein supplier’s Cyclone clone, weight for weight about 1/3 the price of Maximuscle Cyclone but with a very similar formula. Only available online at the current time, but a great supplier all the same. If you are in the UK mail me via Y!A and I’ll give you a discount code (it’s only 5% but that’s better than nothing).
What is the best whey protein powder on the market?
For some one who is just trying to gain a little bit of muscle, and get toned. Not huge, so I don’t want any gainers. Just looking for the best quality product…
I always stick with a high quality chemical free whey product minus the fillers and additives. The price is right for me and the taste is great!
