What is the best Whey Protein powder to use when weightlifting 3 times a week?

Anything that is based on Whey Isolate. Second is Whey Concentrate, third is Casien and fourth is Soy – stay away from that because it contains estrogen which is a muscle growth inhibitor. Make sure to find one with lots of BCAAs and low sugar and carbohydrates. Sugar causes a spike in blood sugar/insulin levels which puts you in a state of lipogenesis – your body stores incoming calories as fat.

Nearly anything without sugars works. Sugars provide empty calories that will bring you down fast and not sustain energy to work out or work after. You can always add your own sweetners (artificial or natural fruits) and flavors to plain, un-sweetened protein powders. That way too you know what you’re getting besides the protein and vitamins. And, you can add the powder to your other everyday foods to boost them without altering the food’s flavor. Which kinds is up to your own needs in nutrition working out, and cost is another factor. Quality products cost more than not, you’ll have to judge by volume too how long a container will last according to the serving sizes. Just watch out for ones containing sugars (Sucrose and HFCS are the bad puppies).
